Julles is a college student in University of Canada. She is in a distant relationship with her boyfriend named Mark. They have been in a relationship since they were in highschool before they agreed to try a long distance relationship. Tonight they are having night face call like they usually do. But tonight is different, what's hidden will soon be uncovered.
(In the night during a face call)
Julles: “Hey… Are you okay? You look distracted.”
Mark: “No I’m fine just tired it’s been along day.”
Julles: (Smiling softly) “I miss you two more months and the semester break starts. Finally we can meet up.”
Mark: “Yeah… Time flies, huh?
(A faint girl’s voice is heard in the background)
Julles: “Was that someone?”
Mark: “Huh? Oh no just the TV. The volumes are kinda loud.”
Julles: “Oh ok.”
(A week later at Mark’s campus apart)
Julles steps of the train with a small backpack, she hadn’t told him she was coming. She wanted to see his reaction. Maybe she just wanted piece of mind.
(She arrives at the front gate. The security guard greets her)
Security: “Oh, you’re looking for Mark? Let me just call up and ask the girl if you’re expected.”
Julles: (The girl?) “No need I’ll just head up.”
(She knocks. A girl opens the door wearing Mark’s hoodie)
Girl: “Can I help you?”
(Mark appears from behind, frozen.)
Mark: “Julles?”
Julles: “So it wasn’t the TV after all.”
Mark: “Julles…I-”
Julles: “Don’t. How long has she been living here?”
Mark: “Since semester two.’
Julles: (Silent, nods slowly) “While I was saving for train tickets, counting days… you already moved on. Quietly. Selfishly.”
Mark: “I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
Julles: “You just didn’t mean to get caught.”
(Julles turns away, holding back tears)
Julles: "Goodbye Mark."
